In a few days, the revolutionary uprising of “Woman Life Liberty” in Iran will celebrate its second anniversary, and the calm and steady revolution of Iranian people shall enter its third year. The revolutionary uprising of Zhina, ignited on 22 September 2022 when “daughter of Iran” Zhina Mahsa Amini was killed, continues to this very day despite extremely violent repression, simply because all the causes and reasons which provoked the uprising still exist.

This revolutionary uprising intends to obliterate the ruling tyranny, or any other type of an authoritarian effort, it intends to institutionalize most broad freedoms, establish justice and equality, defend Iran’s independence and utilize a policy of non-aligned, positive balancing, as its foreign policy.

Based on such goals Iranian masses have turned their backs on Islamic Republic, by learning from our bitter experiences of the past four decades. According to recent official government statistics, ninety two percent of the population  is  dissatisfied with current circumstances and intends to change the government.

Islamic Republic (IR) presides over a rich land, located on top of a sea of oil, gas and countless other resources; an important, significant country, in a very sensitive region of the world, with a young and educated population, yet IR has created such a disastrous economy through which our national currency has become  most worthless currency in the world. During summer people suffer from constant power outages. Owner of the world’s second gas reserve needs to import gas. Most factories are out of order, lacking raw materials.

“Supreme Leader’s Resistance Economy” has endangered the lives of future generations by devouring all the water resources, making the country uninhabitable. The government of thieving and embezzling managers who approve sweetheart loans for insiders and MPs, but cannot afford to pay wages and salaries of workers, teachers, nurses, and retirees. Workers are trapped and condemned to live an unsustainable, unbearable life.

People of Iran have risen up many times against four decades of incompetent, corrupt, destructive management. The revolutionary uprisings of January 1996, November 1998 and September 2022, have all been popular expressions and protests against the prevailing unbearable circumstances. People have stood up for their freedoms in all fields, for a decent human life and an equal society for all, carried out in protests occurring on a daily basis.

Unable to respond to the real problems of the society, IR has resorted to a policy of maximum systematic repression for its salvation. The iron fist of the state, with waves of daily executions, sets the agenda for pushing people back. Mass executions of prisoners, execution of six Balochi prisoners in Zahedan, the continuous issuance of death sentences for incarcerated labor activists; Sharifa Mohammadi and Parakhshan Azizi, prosecution of the so-called “Ekbatan kids,”…

Along with vicious executions, summonses and implementation of prison sentences, widespread arrests are carried out with the aim of decapitating social and civil movements. Intimidation, suspensions, firing and incarceration of labor activists; teachers and nurses has become more common. Depriving students of their education, transferring and expelling students does not stop. Last week more than fifty civil activists were arrested in Kurdistan alone. Retaliating against Kurdistan and Balochistan regions for their unwavering support of the Zhina revolutionary movement is a well-known policy.

Intensification of pressure on Kurdish parties and groups based in the Kurdistan region pursues the same goal, to prevent  protest movements of Kurdish people. The pressures on  activists of the women’s movement are also increasing on a daily basis. Justice seeking families of martyrs are another community that experiences the violence of fascist oppression with all their heart and soul. These beloved families of our martyrs are a constant target of security forces.

Yet despite these efforts the iron fist of Islamic Republic with all its extreme violence has not been able to pacify or terrify the masses.

The brave women of Iran, our mighty lionesses have changed the city landscapes throughout the land, guiding the first women led revolution in world history. Protest movements of all types are becoming more extensive. Workers, teachers, nurses, retirees and farmers cry their demands in strikes, pickets, rallies,…every single day; only in August there were ۱۳۷ reported labor protests.

Political prisoners bestow hope on us with their radiant, passionate resistance. Informed students are not giving up. Islamic Republic’s attempt to destroy social movements has met with utter failure. Our  young intelligentsia, utilizing modern technology, have created new modes of organization. The convergence of social movements are becoming broader.

We consider ourselves part and parcel of this revolutionary movement which has grown in Iran, and consider it our obligation to be its voice throughout the globe.

In protest against unjust circumstances, in commemoration of the anniversary of the revolutionary uprising of “Women Life Liberty,” and in association with Komalah  (Kurdistan Organization of the Communist Party of Iran, https://komalah.org/) and all other active institutions and civil organizations, we support the call for a  General Strike in Kurdistan on Sunday, 15 September.

We also actively support the call of 27 left, democratic, feminist organizations, institutions and collectives to support the revolutionary uprising inside the country on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

We strongly condemn the fascist repressive policies of Islamic Republic, and on this second anniversary of the Zhina’s Revolutionary Uprising, we ask everyone to protest against Islamic Republic’s crimes in any and  every possible and effective ways. Bringing awareness to the world of the inhumanity of the Islamic Republic.
