بیانیۀ عمومی یک استاد ایرانی در دفاع از ایران، تمدن و عقلانیت در برابر تهدیدهای داخلی و خارجی
من، موسی اکرمی، به‌عنوان یک استاد فلسفه‌ی ایرانی که در فعالیت فرهنگی و دانشگاهی خود افتخار تدریس و تألیف و ترجمه در زمینه‌ی فلسفه‌ی سیاسی نیز داشته‌ام، در این لحظه‌ی خطیر تاریخی، که ایران در معرض مخاطرات عظیم داخلی و خارجی قرار دارد، و در حالی که منطقه‌ی خاورمیانه در گرداب بی‌ثباتی، نزاع‌های نیابتی، و رقابت‌های جهانی فرو رفته است، با اتکا به وجدان تاریخی، تعهد ملی، و مسئولیت جهانی خود، موضعی را که عقلانی، مشروع، مستقل و راه‌گشا می‌دانم خطاب به دلبستگان به استقلال و صلح و امنیت کشورها اعلام می‌دارم.
۱. ایران، فراتر از نظام سیاسی: تمدنی برای انسان
ایران، چونان یکی از کهن‌ترین واحدهای تمدنی تاریخ بشری، تنها یک «کشور» در معنای معاصر واژه نیست، بلکه حامل سنت‌های دیرینه‌ای در عرصه‌ی اندیشه، دولت‌سازی، دیپلماسی، هنر، دین، معنویت، و عقلانیت تاریخی است. ایران، سرزمین زرتشت، فردوسی، ابن‌سینا، سعدی، حافظ، مولوی، خیام و صدها اندیشه‌ورز و هنرمند دیگر، بخشی از میراث مشترک بشریت است.
ازاین‌رو، هر گونه تحقیر، تهدید، یا بی‌حرمتی به ایران – حتی اگر در پوشش مخالفت با حاکمیت سیاسی فعلی صورت گیرد – به معنای بی‌حرمتی به فرهنگ و حافظه‌ی جهانی است.
۲. تفکیک روشن اصولی میان «ایران» و حکومت کنونی و هر حکومت دیگر
من بر این باورم که باید تمایزی روشن، عقلانی و اخلاقی میان «ایران» چونان میهن، و حکومت کنونی و هر حکومت دیگری چونان نظام سیاسی مستقر قائل شد. این یک تفکیک عقلانی و اصولی میان هر کشور و حاکمیت بالفعل آن است، و همسانی میان یک کشور و حاکمیت آن به میزان نمایندگی راستین کشور از سوی حاکمیت و پایبندی راستین حاکمیت به منافع ملی آن کشور بستگی دارد.
ازاین‌رو وفاداری به ایران، ضرورتاً به معنای همراهی با سیاست‌های حکومت بالفعل آن نیست، همان‌گونه که نقدِ مسئولانه‌ی سیاست‌های حاکم به معنای خیانت به میهن نیست.
ایرانِ ما همواره بزرگ‌تر از هر نظام حکومتی بوده است و خواهد بود، و نباید اسیر سیاست‌های داخلی و خارجی هر حاکمیتی از یک سو و ابزار سیاست‌های استعماری و توسعه‌طلبانه و مداخله‌گرانه و ناقض تمامیت ارضی خود از سوی دیگر شود.
۳. محکومیت سیاست‌های تحریمی، تهدیدی و تحقیرآمیز خارجی
سیاست‌هائی که با تهدید نظامی، تحریم اقتصادی، یا توهین به غرور ملی ایرانیان همراه است – از سوی هر دولت و هر مقام خارجی، از جمله دونالد ترامپ و دیگر بازیگران مداخله‌گر – نه‌تنها ناکارآمدند، بلکه موجب تعمیق زخم‌های تاریخی، انسداد درونی، و همبستگی موقت یا درازمدت در دفاع از کشور می‌شوند.
من قویاً بر این باورم که اگر قرار است آینده‌ای روشن برای ایران رقم بخورد، این آینده باید از درون کشور پدید آید، نه با مداخلات ویرانگر بیرونی.
۴. انتقاد از انسداد داخلی، فساد ساختاری و نقض حقوق بشر
در عین حال، نمی‌توان چشم بر بحران‌های گسترده‌ی داخلی بست. بحران حکمرانی، فساد ساختاری، سرکوب آزادی‌های مدنی، و خفقان دانشگاهی، ایران را از درون تهی می‌سازد. بدون عبور آگاهانه و مسئولانه از وضعیت موجود، هیچ دفاعی از ایران به‌معنای واقعی امکانپذیر نیست.
من بر ضرورت احیای گونه‌ای قرارداد اجتماعی نوین میان دولت و ملت تأکید می‌کنم، قراردادی که بر پایه‌ی نمایندگی راستین حداکثری شهروندان از سوی حاکمیت، شفافیت، پاسخ‌گویی، حقوق شهروندی، کرامت انسانی، و آزادی اندیشه استوار باشد.
۵. فراخوان برای تشکیل ائتلافی از همۀ میهن‌دوستان راستین، از جمله کارگران، کارکنان اداری، کشاوزان، روشنفکران، دانشگاهیان، و سیاست‌پیشگان وفادار به منافع ملی
ایران بیش از هر زمان دیگر نیازمند صدای خردورزی، گفت‌وگو، و آشتی ملی است. من در مقام خادم کوچک جامعۀ دانشگاهی و فرهنگی، از همه‌ی هم‌میهنان خود – دانشگاهیان، روشنفکران، هنرمندان، کارگران. کارمندان، روستاییان، فعالان مدنی، و سیاست‌پیشگان خدوم و وفادار به منافع ملی – دعوت می‌کنم که به‌دور از وابستگی‌های جناحی، حزبی یا ایدئولوژیک، به شکل‌گیری یک ائتلاف ملیِ مدنی، مستقل و فراملی برای دفاع از ایران و نجات آن از بحران‌های داخلی و استیلاطلبی خارجی یاری رسانند و به آن بپیوندند.
۶. خطاب به جهانیان: ایران را بشناسید، نه تنها حکومت آن را
خطاب من به سیاست‌مداران جهانی – از شرق و غرب تا همسایگان و منطقه‌ی خاور میانه – به‌ویژه آنان که داعیه‌ی دفاع از آزادی و دموکراسی دارند، این است که ایران را نه در قالب نظام سیاسی حاکم، بلکه چونان کشور یا سرزمین ملتی کهن و فرهنگی زنده بشناسند.
توهین‌های کسانی چون دونالد ترامپ نه‌تنها برآمده از بی‌اطلاعی و عوام‌گرایی است، بلکه نشانگر نبود احترام به تفاوت‌های تاریخی و فرهنگی در جهان چندقطبی امروز است.
از این رو، من از تمامی وجدان‌های بیدار در سراسر جهان دعوت می‌کنم که به‌جای دامن زدن به رویارویی، از مسیر گفت‌وگو، دیپلماسی فرهنگی، و همکاری دانشگاهی برای آینده‌ای بهتر در منطقه و جهان حمایت کنند.
من، در مقام یک استاد ایرانی فلسفه که همواره کوشیده‌ام بر زمینه‌ی پیوند میان عدالت و آزادی و صلح دو نگرش انترناسیونالیسم و ناسیونالیستی را با هم آشتی دهم ،
نه از سیاست‌های نادرست داخلی دفاع می‌کنم و نه از مداخله‌جویی خارجی. نه به نام «امنیت» آزادی را نفی می‌کنم، و نه به نام «آزادی» به سرزمینم خیانت می‌کنم؛
من خواهان ایرانِ آزاد، خردورز، تاریخی، صلحجو، و سربلندم؛ ایرانی که هم در جهان به صلحخواهی و عدالت بین‌المللی بدرخشد و هم در خانه آزادی و عدالت و صلح راستین را برقرار سازد؛
و بر این باورم که آینده‌ی ایران، نه در دستان انحصارطلبان اقتدارگرا با هر ایدئولوژی، بلکه در اندیشه‌‌ورزی خردمندانه‌ی فرزانگان و اراده‌ی نیک ملت است.

Public statement by an Iranian professor in defense of Iran, civilization, and rationality against domestic and foreign threats
I, Musa Akrami, as an Iranian professor of philosophy who has had the honor of teaching, writing, and translating in the field of political philosophy in his cultural and academic activities, at this critical historical moment, when Iran is exposed to great domestic and foreign threats, and while the Middle East region is immersed in a whirlpool of instability, proxy conflicts, and global competitions, relying on my historical conscience, national commitment, and global responsibility, I announce a position that I consider rational, legitimate, independent, and path-breaking to those who are committed to the independence, peace, and security of countries.
- Iran, Beyond the Political System: A Civilization for Humanity
Iran, as one of the oldest civilizational units in human history, is not just a “country” in the contemporary sense of the word, but rather a bearer of ancient traditions in the fields of thought, state-building, diplomacy, art, religion, spirituality, and historical rationality. Iran, the land of Zoroaster, Ferdowsi, Avicenna, Saadi, Hafez, Jalal-od-Din Balkhi (Rumi), Khayyam, and hundreds of other thinkers and artists, is part of the common heritage of humanity.
Therefore, any humiliation, threat, or disrespect toward Iran – even if it is done under the guise of opposing the current political regime – means disrespect for the culture and memory of the world.
- A clear, principled distinction between “Iran” and the current government and any other government
I believe that a clear, rational, and moral distinction should be made between “Iran” as the homeland, and the current government and any other government as the established political system. This is a rational and principled differentiation applicable to any country and its actual sovereignty, and the similarity between a country and its sovereignty depends on the extent to which the country is truly represented by the sovereign and the true commitment of the sovereign to the national interests of that country.
Therefore, loyalty to Iran does not necessarily mean accompanying the policies of its actual government, just as responsible criticism of the ruling policies does not mean treason to the homeland.
Our Iran has always been and will be greater than any governmental system, and it should not become a prisoner of the domestic and foreign policies of any government on the one hand and the tool of colonialist, expansionist, interventionist and territorial integrity-violating policies on the other.
- Condemnation of Foreign Sanctions, Threats, and Humiliation Policies
Policies that involve military threats, economic sanctions, or insults to Iranian national pride—from any government or foreign official, including Donald Trump and other meddling actors—are not only ineffective, but also deepen historical wounds, internal blockages, and temporary or long-term solidarity in defending the country.
I firmly believe that if a bright future is to be achieved for Iran, it must come from within the country, not through destructive external interventions.
- Criticism of internal obstruction, structural corruption, and human rights violations
At the same time, we cannot turn a blind eye to the widespread internal crises. The crisis of governance, structural corruption, suppression of civil liberties, and academic suffocation are emptying Iran from within. Without a conscious and responsible transition from the status quo, no defense of Iran in the true sense is possible.
I emphasize the need to revive some kind of new social contract between the state and the nation, a contract based on the true maximum representation of citizens by the government, transparency, accountability, civil rights, human dignity, and freedom of thought.
- A call for the formation a coalition of all true patriots including workers, administrative staff, farmers, intellectuals, academics, and politicians loyal to the national interests
Iran needs the voice of reason, dialogue, and national reconciliation more than ever.
As a small servant of the academic and cultural community, I call on all my compatriots – academics, intellectuals, artists, workers. I invite civil servants, villagers, civil activists, and politicians who serve and are loyal to national interests – to join and contribute to the formation of a civil, independent, and transnational national coalition to defend Iran and save it from internal crises and foreign hegemony, regardless of factional, partisan, or ideological affiliations.
- Address to the world: recognize Iran beyond its government
My address to global politicians – from the East and West to our neighboring countries and the Middle East region – especially those who claim to defend freedom and democracy, is to recognize Iran not in the form of a ruling political system, but as a country or land of an ancient nation with a living culture.
The insults of people like Donald Trump are not only the result of ignorance and populism, but also indicate a lack of respect for historical and cultural differences in today’s multipolar world.
Therefore, I invite all awakened consciences around the world to support the path of dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and academic cooperation for a better future in the region and the world, instead of fueling confrontation.
As an Iranian professor of philosophy who has always tried to reconcile the two perspectives of internationalism and nationalism on the basis of the link between justice, freedom, and peace,
I neither defend incorrect domestic policies nor foreign interventionism. I neither deny freedom in the name of “security,” nor betray my country in the name of “freedom”;
I want a free, rational, historical, peace-loving, and proud Iran; an Iran that shines in the world with international peace and justice, and establishes true freedom, justice, and peace at home;
And I believe that the future of Iran is not in the hands of authoritarian monopolists with any ideology, but in the wise thinking of the wise and the good will of the nation.
With hope for collective wisdom and courage in dealing with national, regional and global issues
